DIRECTOR.
About Me.
Sasha Denny is a London-based director of mixed UK and Caribbean heritage whose work is raw, authentic, and committed to amplifying underrepresented voices. Her style naturally lends itself to shooting on Super 8 and 16mm film, embracing the grain, texture, rich colors, and imperfections that reflect the unpredictability of the world around us.
Her short documentary King of Deptford (co-directed with Daisy Allen) is currently on the international festival circuit, including selections at Curta 8 Film Festival in Brazil and the Peckham and Nunhead Free Film Festival. Earlier work, Love Over Gold, premiered at Festival de Cannes 2023 and screened at BFI Southbank and The Prince Charles Cinema, with official selection at the Berlin Commercial Awards 2023 and coverage in Girls in Film.
Together with Daisy Allen, Sasha co-directed Room Service, representing Ridley Scott Creative Group in the Straight 8 Shootout 2024, premiering at Cinema Les Arcades during Cannes Lions. Sasha’s work combines cinematic observation with tactile, immersive visuals, giving audiences an authentic experience of the people and places she films.
